SERVES: 4
TIME: 30 MINS
INGREDIENTS
4 garlic cloves
2 cups cabbage
2 green onions
7 oz. package chow mein noodles
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 lime, juiced
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp Hoisin or Oyster Chinese sauce (+ 1 tbsp to serve)
1 1/2 lbs steak (ribeye, Sirloin, skirt or your favorite cut)
1 tsp sesame oil
DIRECTIONS
1. Cook the noodles in boiling water until soft (follow package instructions). Set aside with a little bit of oil so they don’t stick.
2. Mince the garlic. Slice the cabbage and green onions finely.
3. Whisk together the olive oil, maple syrup, lime, garlic, dijon mustard, soy sauce and hoisin sauce. Place the steak in a shallow dish and pour around half the marinade.
4. Heat a drizzle of oil or cooking spray in a pan / skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté the steak for 3-4 minutes per side or until cooked to your liking. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
5. While meat rests, drizzle sesame oil and add the cabbage and green onions to the same pan. Sauté until they start to get soft, about 5 minutes. Then, add the cooked noodles and the rest of the marinade. Mix well.
6. Serve the noodles with the sliced steak, extra hoisin sauce and green onions.
